CAIB Graduation 2009 Congratulations to Amanda Gwynne Timothy of our Chester office who will be presented with her CAIB Designation at the upcoming IBANS Graduation & Awards Dinner on April 2nd at the Marriott Harbourfront Hotel. The Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) program is a national designation designed by the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC). The designation requires a broker to successfully complete a national exam on all four (4) CAIB modules. Congratulation Amanda on completing your CAIB designation in less then 2 years!

Mahone Insurance Group Employees Meet National CAIB Challenge! See: http://directory.southshorenow.ca/articledetail.php?id=51 Mahone Insurance Group owners and employees have completed the Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker Program after two years of hard work and perseverance! The achievement involved meeting once each week after work in a classroom of what used to be Mahone Bay Consolidated School – a great use of the facilities of the current Mahone Bay Centre Society. It also involved a great amount of dedicated self-study during after-work hours! After all successfully completed the 4 “Modules” and passed the national exams…MIG rented a bus for those employees and their spouses/significant others and attended a big Grad. Night in December in Halifax. 'We are VERY VERY proud of our Team and their accomplishment, and what this form of adult education means for our staff and our clients....' 35th Anniversary / Title Sponsor of the Mahone Bay Classic Boat Festival We are very pleased to celebrate our 35th Anniversary on July 1st! Mahone Insurance is a third generation insurance brokerage which has it's roots in the purchase and merger of a number of first and second generation insurance agencies. Beginning on July 1, 1972, Franklyn Burgoyne began the process of building the company with the acquisition of his first brokerage office. Mr. Burgoyne based his company out of his family residence, in Mahone Bay, and over the years continued to acquire additional agencies. The company and it's affiliates grew to the point of becoming the largest brokerage on the South Shore and has been fortunate to represent most of the major insurance companies in Canada - some of them for over 30 years. In 1995, Mr. Burgoyne's daughter, Shelley Burgoyne Barry, and son-in-law, Wade Barry, joined the firm. In 2000, Shelley and Wade purchased the company and formed a new incorporation via the merger of a number of operations, the Mahone Insurance Group Inc. ("MIG"). Hot Winter Nights in Bridgewater Mahone Insurance Group was a proud sponsor of the First Annual "Hot Winter Nights in Bridgewater. Wednesday, January 25th 2007: Close to 300 people participated in our first Annual 'Hot Winter Night in Bridgewater' event, a fun filled way to meet everyone in the South Shore community. Pirates of Mahone Bay October 31, 2006 Mahone Insurance Agency was taken over by Priate this Halloween when eleven staff member were transformed into Pirates!
MIG Staff Golf Day 2006 On July 9, 2006,  MIG held their 4th annual MIG Staff Golf Tournament & Barbeque at the Old Town Golf Course! Although the weather did not allow for any “birdies” or “bogeys” on the greens….. the staff did enjoyed a few “strikes”, “spares” and “gutter balls” before they returned to the Clubhouse to relax and take pleasure in the delicious barbeque together. A good time was enjoyed by all!
